Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Field Service Engineer II to remotely cover the San Diego, CA area. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot diagnostic instruments, ensuring compliance and high customer satisfaction while coordinating travel and on-site service across your territory.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in engineering or lab tech, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency with Word/Excel/PowerPoint and VPN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2–5 years of Engineering or Laboratory Technology experience.
• Ability to travel 40% within the assigned territory.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and remote computing tools (VPN).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with laboratory instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain diagnostic systems per quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across multiple instruments.
• Own customer satisfaction by managing issues to resolution.
• Plan and prioritize service visits, maintain inventory and on-call rotation.
• Follow regulatory, quality and safety guidelines during service activities.
