Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Field Service Engineer II to support and maintain diagnostic instruments across the Orange County, CA region. You will install, calibrate, and troubleshoot instruments, ensuring compliance and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
2-5 years of experience in Engineering or Laboratory Technology.
Ability to travel 10% within the assigned territory.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with laboratory instrumentation.
Ability to work independently and thrive in team environments.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet; VPN and remote troubleshooting.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain diagnostic systems including installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across multiple instruments and document resolutions.
Own customer satisfaction by managing issues from start to resolution and escalation.
Plan and prioritize service visits; maintain inventory and support after-hours travel for training.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and lab safety guidelines; document audits.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor other Field Service Representatives.
Meet service sales, cost of service, and KPI targets; drive continuous improvement using remote tools.
