Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Field Service Engineer II for the Diagnostics Division. This remote position covers Athens, GA and the Atlanta Metro area, with up to 50% travel. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot diagnostic instruments, ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams, mentor others, and drive service metrics while upholding safety and quality standards in patient-care diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in Engineering or Laboratory Technology.
• Ability to travel 50% within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain diagnostic systems, including preventives, across assigned instruments.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues, document resolutions, close calls on time.
• Own customer satisfaction by addressing issues and communicating proactively.
• Manage territory: plan visits, maintain inventory, support on-call rotation and training.
• Ensure compliance and safety with regulatory and quality guidelines; document for audits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor other Field Service Representatives.
• Aim to achieve service sales, cost of service, and KPI targets for accounts.
• Leverage remote tools to maximize instrument uptime and certifications through training.
