Job summary
Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to deliver startup, maintenance and repair for switchgear and generator systems across the United States. You will travel up to 75% and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction while supporting service teams.
The ideal candidate has a BSEE or BSEET or 3+ years of related experience, plus PLC/HMI experience and the ability to read electrical schematics. A company vehicle and relocation assistance are provided.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum 2–3 years of related field experience preferred.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and blueprints is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform startup, preventive maintenance, testing and repair on switchgear and generator systems.
- Provide on-site service with up to 75% travel within the U.S.
- Assist and train customers and internal technicians on systems and testing.
- Document service activities and maintain accurate reports and logs.
- Stay current with training on new systems and technologies.
