Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Electric Power Division in the United States. You will design, program, test, and commission PLC-based control systems for generator switchgear projects, working closely with dealers, factories, and field teams.

The role requires a BSEE/BSEET preferred or equivalent experience, with travel up to 50% and a salaried exempt status. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and relocation assistance is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience with automation and controls, PLCs, HMIs, and DCS.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineers, contractors, and end users.

Responsabilités

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with Dealer and Factory teams.
• Design, program, test, and commission PLC-based control systems and HMIs.
• Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Create wiring and assembly drawings with CAD designers.
• Perform technical risk assessment and support field performance.
