Job summary

General Motors seeks a Field Service Engineer to provide on-site and remote support for GM’s retail and wholesale network. You will diagnose vehicle issues, guide repairs, and help reduce warranty costs while visiting dealerships in your territory.

Responsibilities include responding to escalated cases, coordinating with regional teams, and conducting in-dealership trainings on tools and practices to improve service readiness and prevent buybacks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on automotive service or repair experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provide third level, on-site support to resolve automotive technical issues escalated via TAC and FSE Dispatch Center.
• Respond to dispatch cases for vehicle concerns that may lead to 'vehicle down' or repurchase situations.
• Collaborate with DMPS and BRM to mitigate repurchase and warranty costs.
• Coordinate with BRC to respond to dealership inquiries seeking repurchases in your area.
• Identify high-risk repurchase vehicles and assist dealers promptly when they appear at a dealer location.
• Review dealer comeback processes to meet GM requirements and improve where needed.
• Promote a robust comeback process with dealer management and GM regional teams.
