Job summary
Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company seeks a Field Claims Specialist III, Property to resolve complex property claims with investigation, liability evaluation and negotiation. This role covers Chester County, PA, is work-from-home with daily travel to policy locations, and may require overnight travel and CAT duty. You will mentor staff, collaborate with SIU/Subrogation, and deliver exceptional service to policyholders.
Qualifications
3-5 years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience
Proficiency with Xactimate
Experience writing estimates and handling claims start to finish
Construction background (Residential, Roofing, Remodeling, Water mitigation)
Strong customer service competency
Strong written & verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
Handles all assigned claims promptly with little direction and oversight; may include complex and catastrophic losses
Determines proper policy coverages and applies standard methodologies to conclude cases
Opens, closes and adjusts reserves according to company practices
Maintains current knowledge of local industry repair procedures and local market pricing
Mentors and provides leadership to less experienced claims associates
Partners with Special Investigation Unit and Subrogation to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities
Initiates and conducts follow-ups through proficient use of the claims systems
Delivers an outstanding customer service experience to Nationwide customers
