Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Field Claims Specialist III, Property. This role covers Chester County and surrounding PA areas, with a work-from-home setup and periodic travel to policy locations via company vehicle.

You will resolve complex property claims, evaluate coverage, and negotiate settlements while maintaining exceptional service. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of field/property claims experience, expertise with Xactimate, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Solid experience with Xactimate.
• Solid experience writing estimates and handling claims start to finish.
• Construction background/experience - Residential, Roofing, Remodeling, Water mitigation, etc
• Strong customer service competency
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• CAT duty is a requirement of this role

Responsibilities

• Handles all assigned claims promptly and effectively, with little direction and oversight.
• Makes decisions within delegated authority, recommends settlement values.
• Determines proper policy coverages and applies standard methodologies.
• Adheres to high standards of professional conduct while delivering outstanding service.
• Opens, closes and adjusts reserves according to company practices.
• Maintains current knowledge of local industry repair procedures and pricing.
