You will develop skills to handle 1st party property claims and may work remotely from home or a Travelers office. The program lasts 9-12 months, with potential licensing requirements and the possibility of deployment to other states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Previous internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); willingness to learn claims management and estimating software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and make effective decisions within established authority.
• Exceptional customer service skills and commitment to providing a positive experience for insureds and claimants.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Basic conflict resolution skills; willingness to learn techniques for facilitating productive discussions and negotiations.
• Demonstrated openness to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in structured training classes covering insurance policies and claim processes.
• Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under close supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers.
• Learn to investigate and determine coverage for building damages per policy terms.
• Establish accurate scope of damages for building and contents losses and create estimates.
• Provide timely and professional communication to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systems.
• Demonstrate openness to continuous learning and new technology implementations.
