Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking an Associate Claim Rep, Outside Property, to receive comprehensive training in claim handling, customer service, and policy interpretation while developing skills to manage 1st party property claims. This program is typically 9-12 months and will lead to independent claims handling.

This remote role combines work at residential and commercial locations with mobile work or office visits, and requires earning an active adjuster license where required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; internship or work experience in customer service or insurance preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); willingness to learn claims management and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in structured training classes on insurance policies, claim processes, systems and procedures.
• Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers.
• Learn to investigate and evaluate all relevant facts and information; apply coverage for building damages per policy terms.
• Establish accurate scope of damages for building and contents losses and support estimates.
