Farmers Insurance is seeking a Field Property Claims Adjuster in Michigan. The role involves investigating residences, assessing damage, and negotiating fair settlements in collaboration with policyholders and stakeholders.

You will use mobile tools, write estimates, and travel to sites, with a focus on customer service, accuracy, and compliance with safety standards. A high school diploma and insurance-related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment.
• Construction or Insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred.
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
• Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Proficiency with smartphones and applications.
• Eagerness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• Outgoing personality that would enjoy interacting with a wide variety of people.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations by visiting policyholders’ residences to assess property damage and fair settlements.
• Use claims handling software, company car, and a laptop to write estimates in a paperless environment.
• Evaluate potential subrogation opportunities and report incidents to state/industry agencies.
• Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, investigators, attorneys, and others.
• Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims and maintain professional standards on all interactions.
