Job summary

Farmers Insurance in the United States is seeking a Field Adjuster to conduct on-site and virtual investigations, assess property damage, and negotiate fair settlements. You will use claims software, a company car, and a laptop to process claims in a paperless environment.

The role requires excellent customer service, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license. Travel to policyholder locations and deployments will be part of the job, with a flexible, field-based schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent Customer service experience, preferably in retail.
• Construction or Insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred.
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
• Computer Literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Proficiency with smartphones and applications.
• Eagerness to learn about insurance policies and property damage from the inside out to identify how coverage applies to a particular loss.
• Outgoing personality that would enjoy interacting with a wide variety of people including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and fraud investigators.
• Valid driver's license and Bondable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations by visiting policyholders’ residences to assess property damage and negotiate settlements.
• Use claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop for claim processing.
• Evaluate and report on potential subrogation opportunities.
• Report incidents involving theft, fraud, or arson to state and industry agencies.
• Perform duties independently, with work impacting management outcomes.
• Interact professionally with policyholders, claimants, agents and investigators.
• Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims.
• Travel and deployments as required.
