Job summary

Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies seeks a field adjuster to work from home within the Greater Grand Rapids area (MI). You will investigate and control property & casualty claims, maintain knowledge of construction and estimating methods, and train others on estimating systems.

A Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years of claims experience are required, with INS/AIC or similar designations and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; equivalent experience considered.
• 5–7 years multi‑line or property claims experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of insurance contracts and company policies required.
• Outstanding listening and customer service skills required.
• Access to high speed Internet at home if field-based.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record required.
• INS, AIC designation or similar required; CPCU preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate and control property and casualty claims under minimal supervision.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of building types, construction, repair costs and scoping damages.
• Assist in training others on repair estimating systems and damage scoping.
• Provide timely service and equitable resolutions to insureds, claimants and the company.
• Cover the Greater Grand Rapids, MI area as a home-based field adjuster.
