Job summary

Scientific Search is seeking a hands-on Field Service Engineer to own installation, startup, commissioning and customer training for sophisticated pharmaceutical capital equipment. This remote-based role requires extensive travel and interaction with customers, project managers and technical teams to ensure startup success.

You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, instrumentation, and control issues, read schematics, and document commissioning activities while maintaining safety

Qualifications

Strong AC/DC electrical troubleshooting and instrumentation skills.
Experience reading schematics, P&IDs, and electrical/pneumatic interconnects.
Hands-on experience with VFDs, motors, 4–20 mA circuits, and test meters.
Familiarity with NFPA/NEC, Arc Flash safety, and industrial environments.
Genuine road-warrior mentality and flexibility for extensive travel.

Responsibilities

Lead onsite installation, startup, commissioning, and customer training
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, instrumentation, and controls issues
Perform power-up, I/O testing, validation support, and field-service activities
Coordinate contractors, customers, Project Managers, and technical teams
Document commissioning activities, punch lists, reports, and equipment issues
