Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Field Electrical Engineer to act as an owner’s representative, performing field inspections, QA, and oversight of electrical testing and commissioning at multiple sites during construction. The role emphasizes identifying code issues, energization blockers, and documenting punch lists while coordinating with Project Managers.

The position is remote with travel across the United States, based in California, and focuses on commercial EV charging infrastructure and facility power

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of field electrical maintenance experience within EPC of commercial projects or similar.
• Experience working with NETA-qualified testing vendors and assessing pass/fail of test results.
• Proficiency with medium voltage infrastructure and relay testing.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Convey project status to clients via discussions, presentations, and reports.
• Manage site schedules, travel, client communication, and budgets.
• Coordinate onsite activities with stakeholders and manage time and effort.
• Travel within the United States to project sites (50-75% travel).
• Inspect NETA testing and verify installed electrical systems and components.
• Oversee transformer testing and relay calibration and power metering knowledge.
• Attend customer sites in a timely manner.
