Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Field Electrical Engineer for a remote-based role in California. You will provide field inspections, construction QA, and oversee electrical testing and commissioning at multiple sites across project phases. Travel within the United States (~50-75%) is expected.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of EPC experience with MV testing, NETA vendor coordination, and strong communication to support project managers and clients in delivering on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of field electrical maintenance/ EPC experience on commercial projects.
• Experience with NETA testing vendors and MV testing.
• Proficient with MV infrastructure and relay testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections and QA across multiple sites during construction.
• Oversee electrical testing, commissioning, and energization blockers.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, clients, and onsite teams.
• Manage schedules, travel, and site budgets; document punch lists.
• Inspect and verify NETA testing results and relay calibration.
