Job summary

NV5, Inc. is seeking a Field Electrical Engineer (Remote) based in California to join our team. The role focuses on owner’s representation, field inspections, QA, and commissioning oversight across multiple sites during construction.

Travel within the U.S. will be frequent, with 50-75% time on site supporting commercial projects. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with NV5 processes, conduct energization blocker resolution, and verify testing results from NETA vendors, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of field electrical maintenance experience in EPC for commercial projects.
• Experience coordinating with NETA testing vendors and assessing test results.
• Proficient with medium voltage testing and relay calibration.

Responsibilities

• Convey project status to clients via discussions, presentations, and reports.
• Manage site schedule, travel, client communications, and budgets.
• Engage multiple stakeholders while onsite and manage time efficiently.
• Travel 50-75% within the United States for site walks and Owners Rep services.
• Inspect NETA tests and verify electrical installations across sites.
• Oversee transformer testing results and relay-related verifications.
• Create punch lists and ensure adherence to client processes and procedures.
• Oversee automatic transfer switch troubleshooting and HV/LV switchgear work.
