Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Field Electrical Engineer (Remote) based in California. You will serve as an owner's representative, conducting field inspections, QA, and overseeing electrical testing and commissioning at multiple sites during construction.

You will manage checklists, ensure code compliance, and document punch lists while coordinating with project managers. Travel will be frequent (approximately 50-75%), with virtual work when not on sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of field electrical maintenance experience in EPC of commercial projects or similar.
• Ability to identify onsite deficiencies and energization blockers and recommend resolutions.
• Experience working with NETA testing vendors and assessing pass/fail results.
• Proficiency with Medium Voltage infrastructure and relay testing.

Responsibilities

• Convey overall project status to clients via discussions, presentations, and reports.
• Manage assigned site schedule, travel, client communications, and project budgets.
• Coordinate onsite activities and time management across stakeholders.
• Travel within the United States to site walks and Owners Rep services (50-75% travel).
• Inspect NETA testing, verify tests and punch list deficiencies observed onsite.
• Oversee energization blockers, relay calibration, and power metering knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with client processes and procedures during onsite activities.
