Job summary

Terawatt Infrastructure seeks a Field Electrical Engineer to lead construction, commissioning, energization, and ongoing operation of EV charging sites across North America. You will work with senior leadership and contractors to ensure safety, code compliance, and reliable operation.

Requires 5+ years in electrical construction, NEC/IEEE knowledge, and the ability to travel 60%+. This is a hands-on role shaping the grid-ready charging infrastructure Terawatt delivers to fleets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years field experience with electrical construction, commissioning, or startup.
• Knowledge of NEC/IEEE/UL and field verification of diagrams and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate field conditions against approved diagrams to determine acceptability or need for design changes.
• Serve as owner's field representative during FAT and test of OFE including switchgear and EVSE.
• Assess energization readiness and make go/no-go calls with stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical/hardware issues on active sites with Field Service.
• Analyze deviations and decide on design revision vs documentation only.
• Ensure handoff to operations with proper maintenance and warranty documentation.
• Interpret NEC, UL, IEEE codes during field reviews.
• Manage field engineering activity across multiple sites and report progress.
• Escalate high-risk or precedent-setting cases to senior engineering leadership.
