Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking a Field Application Engineer (electronics) to support regional sales managers by translating customer requirements into effective technical solutions across FPGA/DSP, RF and embedded computing platforms. You will present roadmaps and capabilities, and collaborate with engineering teams to tailor proposals.

The position is fully remote within the Texas/Canada territory, with 50%+ travel including multi-day trips.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Field Applications Engineering, Technical Sales Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.
• Strong technical understanding of hardware/software integration and embedded computing systems.
• Experience gathering customer requirements and translating customer needs into technical requirements or product recommendations.
• Proven ability to provide technical sales support and collaborate with regional sales managers.
• Experience presenting technical information, product capabilities, and solutions to customers.
• Strong understanding of FPGA/DSP-based embedded hardware.
• Strong understanding of RF and analog technologies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused, self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness and ability to travel 50% or more, including overnight and multi-day trips.
• Ability to travel regularly, often approximately two weeks per month depending on customer demand.

• Serve as trusted technical resource for customers and regional sales managers.
• Present product portfolio, roadmaps, and application capabilities.
• Support pre-sales engagements and provide technical assistance throughout the customer relationship.
• Assist customers in identifying right solutions for complex aerospace and defense applications.
