Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a field service engineer to perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical distribution equipment across the Power Delivery portfolio. You will lead hands-on project work, coordinate with customers, and ensure safety and compliance in the ABB framework.

The role requires travel up to approximately 75%, robust technical skills in LV/MV systems, and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment while supporting outages and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; electrical/mechanical preferred.
At least 2 years field engineering experience, or equivalent military service.
Ability to lift and move heavy electrical equipment.
Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel and Word.
Willingness to travel ~75% and have a valid passport and driver's license.
Knowledge of industrial customer base in the local area preferred.
Experience with LV/MV breakers, switchgear, transformers (OEMs preferred).
Experience with testing/commissioning of power distribution equipment a plus.
Must be able to work in the US

Responsibilities

Coordinate with customers by phone or email to schedule jobs and materials.
Ensure compliance with ABB HSE, Safety Manual, and policies at all times.
Lead hands-on execution of projects including startup, commissioning, and repair of Power Delivery equipment.
Participate in outages with field engineers and contractors; support project management and reporting.
