Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager (FAM) to serve as the subject-matter expert on access issues for HCPs and HCOs. This remote/field-based role supports patient access to therapy by providing education on access processes, payer coverage, and hub programs across an assigned geography.

You will analyze access trends, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and coordinate with hub vendors to resolve access barriers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of 7 years' experience in patient support, Pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial) and related access processes.
Expertise in pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
Experience in hub and patient support activities.
Willingness to travel 20-25% and reside in the New Orleans area assigned territory/metro area.

Responsibilities

Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification and prior authorization.
Analyze access trends and payer coverage to address barriers.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Field Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and other teams to support patient access.
Build relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless access to therapy.
Coordinate with hub vendor and third parties on access issues.
Educate field teams on access policies and payer processes.
Attend National and Regional Meetings.
