Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on access-related issues for healthcare professionals and organizations. The role is remote/field-based, collaborating with patient support, market access, and field sales to facilitate timely patient access to therapy.

The FAM will provide education on access processes, reimbursement issues, and patient assistance programs, while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years experience in patient support, Pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial) and related access processes.
• HIPAA regulations knowledge and compliance.
• Willingness to travel 20-25% and reside in the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide information/education to HCP accounts on patient access, including verification and prior authorization processes.
• Analyze access trends and barriers to patient access.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support seamless patient access to therapy.
• Educate field teams on access programs and payer coverage policies.
• Escalate access issues with third parties and hub vendors.
