Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a Loss Mitigation FHA Claims Specialist to prepare, file, and follow up on FHA home retention claims with accuracy and timeliness. The approved target pay range is $23.00 to $26.00 per hour, with remote work from home enabling flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities include preparing HUD claims, daily follow-ups, reconciling claim proceeds, and ensuring all documentation is imaged and filed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience; some college preferred.
• One to two years’ mortgage servicing default experience preferred.
• Previous FHA claims experience preferred.
• Understanding the loss mitigation and claims process.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and quality on loan evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file all HUD claims timely and accurately according to guidelines.
• Follow up semi-daily on all outstanding claim proceeds.
• Perform loan level reconciliation for final claim proceeds and adjust as needed.
• Provide posting instructions for claim proceeds within 24 hours of receipt.
• Review and ensure timely completion of all scheduled steps.
• Input the completion date when action occurs and adjust dates as needed.
• Document servicing actions, delays, and conversations in system notes.
