Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a Loss Mitigation FHA Claims Specialist to work remote from home. You will prepare, file, and follow up on FHA home retention claims in accordance with investor and insurer guidelines.

If you have 1–2 years mortgage servicing default experience and FHA claims knowledge, join our team to ensure timely claim processing, posting, and documentation while upholding CMS policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 1–2 years mortgage servicing default experience preferred.
• Previous FHA claims experience preferred.
• Understanding the loss mitigation and claims process.
• Strong written and oral communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file HUD/FHA claims timely and accurately per guidelines.
• Follow up on outstanding claim proceeds semi-daily.
• Perform loan level reconciliation for final claim proceeds.
• Provide posting instructions for claim proceeds within 24 hours.
• Review and ensure timely completion of scheduled steps.
• Document all servicing, actions, delays, and conversations.
• Maintain HUD audit file and image all claim documents.
