Actalent is seeking a qualified GS Federal Classifier for a remote contract position supporting Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). The assignments include researching GS position classifications, applying OPM standards, and advising managers on organizational design and grade determinations.

This role is remote with occasional visits to BPA Headquarters in Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in federal classification, familiarity with Title V CFR and OPM

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Federal classification, business administration, or closely related field.
• 10+ years of experience required with a related degree; 12+ years with an associate degree; 14+ years without a degree.
• Experience in Federal position evaluation, classification, and job description analysis.
• Expertise in Federal laws and practices related to Federal HR programs, especially classification.
• Knowledge of Title V CFR, OPM appeals decisions, and FLSA policy as it relates to Federal HR.

Responsabilités

• Conduct GS position classification research and desk audits by reviewing position descriptions and preparing evaluation statements.
• Apply GS standards to determine appropriate title, series, and grade for federal positions.
• Perform position management studies to streamline structures and improve efficiency.
• Provide guidance to managers and staff to verify classification accuracy and consistency.
• Interpret classification standards and advise on grade determinations and organizational design.
• Explain grade distinctions and justify final determinations with support criteria.
• Credit factor levels for accurate final grade allocations and advise on policy implications.
• Research federal regulations and DOE guidance to ensure compliance.
• Prepare status reports and maintain compliant filing systems and records.
