Job summary

SMX is seeking a federal financial business analyst to advance the CFO Control Tower BAS solution built for the federal government on SAP Analytics Cloud. The role is full-time and fully remote with travel ≤20% and requires a Public Trust clearance.

You will collaborate with designers, developers and budget SMEs to analyze processes, document requirements, run workshops, and design data and reporting solutions to improve operational efficiency and financial performance.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years in federal financial management or related areas.
• Experience with data analytics and reporting for government programs.
• Familiarity with business process improvement methodologies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of client objectives, financial operations, and strategic priorities.
• Document and analyze business processes, workflows, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
• Review policies and data structures to assess impacts on processes.
• Utilize BI tools to maximize value of client data assets.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions to improve reporting and financial performance.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to align requirements across functions.
• Create quality SDLC documentation (RTM, FDD, design docs, end-user guides).
• Develop test plans and manage test execution.
