Job summary

SMX is seeking a federal financial business analyst to join its client service delivery team. The role focuses on the BAS budgeting and spend solution for federal customers, deployed on SAP Analytics Cloud, with 100% remote work and travel up to 20% and requires Public Trust clearance.

The candidate will work with a team of designers, developers, and budget SMEs to build, enhance, and roll out a best-in-class solution, leveraging 5+ years of federal financial analysis and data modeling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, information systems, data analytics, public administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in federal financial management, business process analysis, data analytics, or related consulting.
• Experience with federal government financial data and processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of client objectives, financial operations, and strategic priorities.
• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, requirements, and decision-making needs.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to enhance operational efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Review policies, data structures, and procedures to assess impacts on business and financial processes.
• Utilize BI and analytics tools to maximize the value of client data assets.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions that improve operational effectiveness, reporting capabilities, and financial performance.
• Collaborate across teams to align requirements and delivery.
• Create quality documentation across SDLC phases (RTM, FDD, design docs, user docs, training guides, online help).
• Develop test plans and use cases, and manage test execution.
