Job summary

SMX is seeking a Junior Federal Financial Business Analyst to join the client service delivery team and work on the BAS budgeting and reporting solution for federal customers. You will analyze complex financial data, improve processes, and translate insights into actionable recommendations, collaborating with budget SMEs, designers, and developers.

This full-time, 100% remote role requires a Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one, with travel under 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3+ years in federal financial management or related areas.
• Experience with federal government financial data.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial and operational data to support decision-making.
• Document business processes, workflows, requirements and decisions.
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify improvements.
• Recommend process, technology and data solutions to improve efficiency.
• Review policies and data structures for impacts on processes.
• Utilize BI tools to maximize data value for clients.
• Prepare SDLC artifacts and end-user documentation.
• Develop test plans and use cases; manage test execution.
