Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an Executive Underwriter or AVP, Underwriter Director for Construction Property underwriting. This remote role is based in the San Antonio or Austin area and will be filled at the level best suited to the candidate's experience.

You will handle complex Construction Property accounts and partner with brokers across the US as a SME on underwriting and marketing. Responsibilities include applying underwriting rules, collaborating with LOB partners, guiding junior

Qualifications

• Experience in underwriting or market facing areas, strong knowledge of lines and markets.
• Ability to work under time constraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, and rating rules.
• Develop and collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and needs.
• Provide guidance to lower level associates where appropriate.
• Build and maintain relationships with distributors (agents/brokers) to support retention and growth.
• Support sales culture by being a Help Point for agents, brokers and customers.
• Proactively pursue renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth.
• Qualify accounts to ensure alignment with appetite and opportunity.
• Make broker/customer and on-site calls with purpose.
