Job summary

Cosmo 1:1 is hiring as an independent contractor to teach ESL to students. You will provide personalized 1-on-1 instruction using the Cosmo curriculum to ESL students based in Singapore and Hong Kong, with a set weekly 50-minute class time. The role offers a flexible schedule where you set your hours and upload availability in the Cosmo App.

Pay is $20 USD per class plus additional incentives. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree, have 3 years of K-12 ELA/ESL/EFL teaching experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3 years of experience teaching grades K-12 ELA, ESL, or EFL.
• TEFL certificate preferred but not required.
• Fast and reliable internet connection and a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000.
• Commit to a minimum of 6 months with Cosmo 1:1.
• Available between 6-9 AM EST Monday through Friday or weekends.
• Minimum of 20 hours of availability weekly.
• Access to a private and quiet location.
• Located in the United States or Canada.
• Able to build rapport and make students feel comfortable in an online classroom.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1 on 1 instruction for your students.
• Update availability in the Cosmo App promptly.
• Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student’s age and ability.
• Submit Class Feedback after each lesson.
• Communicate with parents and students professionally.
• Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting.
• Communicate with Cosmo staff.
