Job summary

Smartsheet is seeking an Enterprise Technical Solutions Engineer to guide customers through the sales cycle with deep technical expertise in APIs, SSO, and integrations. This remote-friendly role supports the Worldwide Field Operations Solution Engineering team from the US and collaborates with sales to deliver high-value, scalable solutions.

You will build proofs of concept, create architectural diagrams, and respond to SERs while staying current on Smartsheet products and API capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Solutions Engineer or similar in SaaS/enterprise software
• Basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Understanding of IT Service/User Management
• Experience with APIs and OAuth2/SAML/OpenID
• Experience with event-based workflows and automation
• Excellent problem-solving and curiosity
• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub/GitLab)
• Familiarity with MEDDIC/SVS sales methodologies is a plus
• Experience leveraging AI in sales cycles
• Willing to travel periodically
• Bachelors degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales/presales to develop value-driven solution proposals
• Serve as technical resource for Presales on Smartsheet API, premium apps, SSO/SAML, and 3rd party APIs
• Respond to SERs via Salesforce for complex opportunities
• Build proofs of concept to demonstrate product capabilities
• Create solution diagrams outlining architecture and requirements
• Provide guidance on product integration possibilities with other tools
• Assist with technical questions for RFPs
• Identify opportunities for new integrations and solutions
• Share field insights with Product/Engineering
• Co-present at Smartsheet events on governance, integrations, security, automation
• Contribute to internal docs and enablement materials
