Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Cloud Software Platform Practice to lead a team of cloud software engineers delivering platform capabilities powering our healthcare ecosystem. This role can be remote within the United States and reports to the Cloud Platform Practice Owner.

You will coach engineers, drive high standards, collaborate with security and product teams, design scalable Go-based services, and balance delivery with platform longevity, reliability, and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of related experience, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree.
• Leadership approach grounded in humility, curiosity, accountability, and service to the team.
• Experience coaching engineers across multiple product teams or programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of cloud software engineers with coaching and growth opportunities.
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative engineering culture.
• Design, implement, and maintain Go-based cloud services for scalable platforms.
• Collaborate with security, product, and architecture to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.
• Balance near-term delivery with long-term platform health and technical debt reduction.
