Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design and scale a modern SaaS cloud platform used globally. The role focuses on Go, React, and Node, aligning APIs and microservices for a secure, scalable medical device ecosystem. Remote work within the United States is supported, with collaboration across distributed teams.

You will mentor others, contribute to architectural decisions, and deliver highly reliable services with attention to performance and security in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development in Agile environments.
• Full stack development experience with Go, React, Node, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and JSX.
• Strong CS fundamentals and ability to learn new languages quickly.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Proven ability to work with distributed teams and conduct effective code reviews.
• Understanding of TDD and OO design will help in building modular, testable code.

Responsibilities

• Learn and improve our existing React and Go based health care platforms.
• Design and implement services, features, and components using React, Node and Go.
• Develop high-volume, low-latency services for a global platform.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to integrate APIs for data sharing.
• Write maintainable, unit-testable code and drive quality.
• Work with InfoSec to design secure cloud solutions.
• Shape API contracts with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and build internal tooling.
• Help ensure performance, uptime and scalability of systems.
