Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Engineering Manager, Cloud Software Platform Practice to lead a team building cloud-based platforms powering healthcare ecosystems. Remote within the U.S., you will guide engineers, ensure reliability, and collaborate with product and security teams to deliver scalable solutions.

You will mentor engineers, promote learning, and drive architectural decisions while balancing delivery with long-term platform health and security in a healthcare context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science/IT or related field.
• 8+ years of related experience or 6+ with Master’s; leadership experience.
• Experience coaching engineers and leading cross-team initiatives.
• Strong background in cloud-based or distributed systems and architectural delivery.
• Ability to mentor and develop engineers across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of cloud software engineers.
• Collaborate with Product and Security to deliver secure cloud services.
• Architect, design, and evolve the platform with a focus on reliability and scalability.
• Drive deliveries, manage capacity and risks, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
