Abbott is seeking a Software Engineer, Cloud to join a US-based, remote-friendly team. You will design cloud services in Go, integrate APIs, and build scalable, testable systems that process billions of messages daily for health tech solutions.

The role emphasizes full SDLC participation, collaboration with partners, and a drive to improve architecture while maintaining reliability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of professional software development in Agile environments.
• Strong CS fundamentals and software development experience.
• Ability to contribute beyond experience level.
• Experience with Git for source control on collaborative projects.
• OO design and modular, testable code.
• Experience with asynchronous messaging and backend processing jobs.
• Familiar with Docker containers and orchestration: Swarm, ECS, Kubernetes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement services using Go for cloud platforms.
• Collaborate on API development and integration for medical data sharing.
• Develop scalable, reliable systems with maintainable code and tests.
• Participate in full SDLC for Cloud solutions with software engineering teams.
• Implement architectural alignment changes across systems.
• Create diagrams and models to illustrate design and workflows.
• Build internal tooling and automate build, release and configuration processes.
• Support regulatory compliance requirements including FDA guidance.
