Job summary

ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is seeking a Performance Engineer to join our Public Sector East team in New England or New York. The role is the primary technical project developer, translating client needs into concrete energy solutions and guiding installations.

You will conduct site surveys, analyze utility data, perform energy savings analyses, build financial models, and coordinate with account executives and project managers to present proposals and ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering/technology degree or equivalent.
• 3–8 years of experience in construction or energy service related field.
• Bonus: 10 years of experience; certifications such as CEM, CMVP, LEED, NEBB, TAB, ASHRAE; PE license; NCESS Record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth site surveys to identify mechanical/operating inefficiencies and analyze utility bills and financials.
• Create technical plans (written and schematic) to convey solutions and risk to internal teams and customers.
• Perform energy savings calculations, life cycle cost analyses, and establish guaranteed savings based on proposed measures.
• Create financial models based on customer parameters and project results.
• Coordinate with Account Executive and Project Manager to develop and present proposals to customers.
• Ensure smooth installation and act as technical liaison between operations and sales teams.
• Identify subcontractors/consultants to provide technical analysis and ensure quality of work.
• Approve equipment before ordering to ensure accurate estimates and on-time delivery.
• Develop measurements to verify energy/operational guarantees with customers.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited Engineering/Technology program or equivalent
