Job summary

Energy Systems Group, LLC. is seeking a Performance Engineer to join our Public Sector East team in New England or New York. This role requires frequent travel (approximately 25%–50%), including overnight stays, to support energy projects.

The engineer will lead technical development, analyze facility energy use, and turn customer needs into concrete, cost-effective solutions while supporting installation and project delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from ABET accredited Engineering/Technology program or equivalent.
• Three to eight years' experience in a construction or energy service related field.

Responsibilities

• Conducts in-depth site surveys to identify mechanical and operating inefficiencies; analyzes utility bills and financials; coordinates with contractors to provide technical solutions.
• Facilitates communication among internal teams, sub-contractors, and customers with written and schematic plans.
• Performs energy savings calculations, life cycle cost analyses, and feasibility analyses; establishes guaranteed savings for proposed measures.
• Creates financial models based on customer parameters and project results; coordinates with Account Executive and Project Manager to present proposals.
• Ensures smooth installation and acts as a link for technical information between operations and sales teams; maintains current knowledge of energy tech and regulations.
• Keeps abreast of regional legislation and maintains full technical understanding of energy and plant operations as a resource for customers.
