Job summary

Energy Systems Group is seeking a seasoned Performance Engineer to serve our Public Sector East team in New England or New York. This role focuses on energy analysis, cost modeling, and delivering concrete technical solutions for complex facility projects.

The candidate will lead site surveys, perform energy and operational calculations, and collaborate with Account Executives and Project Managers to present proposals. Willingness to travel 25–50% and manage multiple priorities is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an ABET‑accredited Engineering/Technology program or equivalent.
• 3–8 years' experience in a construction or energy service related field.

Responsibilities

• Conducts in‑depth site surveys to identify mechanical and operating inefficiencies; analyzes utility bills, financials, and coordinates with contractors to provide technical solutions.
• Facilitate communication among internal teams, subcontractors, and customers by creating technical plans and risk assessments.
• Performs energy savings calculations, life cycle cost analyses, and feasibility analyses of recommendations, establishing guaranteed savings based on measures proposed.
• Creates financial models based on customer parameters and project outcomes; coordinates with Account Executive and Project Manager to develop proposals.
• Ensures smooth installation and serves as a technical liaison between operations and sales, identifying subcontractors and ensuring quality work.
• Approves equipment before ordering to ensure accurate estimates and on-time delivery; maintains ongoing technical understanding of energy and plant operations.
