Job summary

Axon in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design and development of next‑gen hardware from concept through mass production. You will join as a founding member of the Axon 911 hardware team, partnering with ID, EE, RF, PM and manufacturing to deliver durable, wireless devices used by public safety professionals.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of mechanical product design experience across rugged/electronic devices.
• 5+ years in technical leadership guiding teams of 3+ engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design from concept through high-volume production.
• Balance size, weight, durability, sealing, thermal and RF requirements.
• Design with plastics, metals, stamping, die casting and bonding methods.
• Lead verification via FEA, testing, tolerance analysis and prototypes.
• Collaborate with ID, EE, RF, Product, and manufacturing teams.
