Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking a Project Manager - Execution Planning for its growth in renewable energy construction. The role focuses on preconstruction, risk management, and coordinating handoff to operations across multiple offices, with travel to sites as needed.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of PM experience, strong leadership, and solid knowledge of contracting, procurement, and scheduling in the renewables sector. Remote-friendly with travel to Fargo and other sites.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Law, Business, or related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience with 2 years project management experience.
• Experience in preconstruction is required; renewables industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, manage, and supervise the work of all assigned projects through preconstruction to handoff.
• Supervise and mentor direct reports and oversee their projects to ensure deliverables.
• Provide clear direction and targets for project staff during preconstruction.
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
• Act as subject matter expert for Renewables team members.
• Provide regular reporting to Preconstruction leadership and executives.
• Maintain knowledge of industry precedents and procedures.
• Coordinate preconstruction with Legal, Commercial, Estimating, and other support teams.
• Work with Estimating to align final project estimate with contract negotiations.
• Coordinate with Procurement for updated quotes and scope.
• Coordinate with Engineering for initial subcontracting or procurement needs.
• Establish buyout strategies from estimation/NTP gaps.
• Coordinate subcontractor/supplier approvals with Project Operations.
• Assist Procurement with subcontract negotiations and act as SME as needed.
• Coordinate with Estimating for final adjustments to the estimate.
• Prepare contracts exhibits with Project Operations, Commercial, and Preconstruction leadership.
• Assist Commercial Services with T&C negotiations as applicable.
• Manage pre-contract reporting and compliance until handoff.
• Prepare monthly reports and invoices as needed.
• Develop and maintain preconstruction docs (Checklist, Risk Register, Lessons Learned).
• Facilitate completion of full project execution plan by Project Operations.
