Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Human Services, is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker for the Franklin County Assistance Office. This role focuses on determining eligibility for Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, nursing home care, and waivers, guiding clients through complex processes with clear communication.

After completing an 8-week IMSTP, you will perform duties in an office setting, conducting interviews, entering data, documenting decisions, and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in interviewing or work requiring data analysis and interpretation.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements within 3 months of graduating.

Responsibilities

• Eligibility review for programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, Nursing Home Care, and Waivers.
• Conduct phone and in-person interviews to gather information and understand client circumstances.
• Interpret and apply state and federal regulations to ensure accurate case decisions.
• Enter information into automated systems and perform manual calculations for case processing.
• Write clear and thorough case comments to record changes and document decisions.
• Complete all assigned work within required timeframes and established procedures.
