Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Northumberland County Assistance Office, seeks an Income Maintenance Caseworker to determine eligibility for financial assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, and other programs. After completing the IMSTP training, you will perform duties in an office setting with careful attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four years of experience in interviewing or data analysis required.
• Experience may be substituted by equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Eligibility Review: evaluate applications and determine program eligibility (financial assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, Nursing Home Care, and Waivers).
• Customer Interviews: conduct phone and in-person interviews to gather information and understand circumstances.
• Policy Application: interpret and apply state and federal regulations for accurate case decisions.
• Data Entry: enter information into systems and perform manual calculations for case processing.
• Case Documentation: write clear case comments to record changes and decisions.
• Deadline Management: complete all work within required timeframes and procedures.
