Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Human Services is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker in Franklin County to determine eligibility for Medicaid, SNAP, and other programs and to guide clients through the process in an office setting.

After completing an 8-week IMSTP, you will conduct interviews, review applications, enter data, and document decisions, with a 37.5-hour workweek and potential part-time telework.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in interviewing or work requiring the analysis and interpretation of data.
• A bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants may meet educational requirements within 3 months of graduating.

Responsibilities

• Eligibility Review: evaluate applications and determine program eligibility (financial assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, Waivers).
• Customer Interviews: conduct phone and in-person interviews to gather information.
• Policy Application: interpret and apply regulations for accurate case decisions.
• Data Entry: enter information into systems and perform calculations for cases.
• Case Documentation: write clear case comments recording changes and decisions.
• Deadline Management: complete work within required timeframes and procedures.
