Job summary

Qualifications

• A four-year high school diploma or educational equivalent and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
• Keyboard familiarity with typing at a minimum of 100 key strokes per minute.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervisor in assigning tasks, monitoring progress, guiding staff, and ensuring timely completion of work.
• Identify administrative and operational problems and provide efficiency recommendations.
• Perform clerical work under supervision, including data processing, recording, and maintaining records for licensing applicants.
• Develop and implement internal systems, policies, and procedures to organize division work and improve performance.
• Check records for accuracy and adherence to policy; monitor and coach staff.
• Handle high-volume customer service to licensing applicants in person and by phone.
• Assist applicants with outreach to other city agencies and interagency communication to resolve licensing issues.
• Process applications across DCWP categories as needed.
• Answer calls, emails, and written correspondence; communicate applicant information.
