Job summary

NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is seeking a Clerical Associate within the Licensing Division to ensure fair and efficient licensing operations across New York City. The role supports record accuracy, payments, and extensive customer service for licensing applicants.

Applicants should have a four-year high school diploma and at least one year of clerical experience, with strong typing skills (100 keystrokes per minute) and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Qualifications

• Four-year high school diploma or equivalent and one year of clerical experience.
• Ability to type at least 100 keystrokes per minute.

Responsibilities

• Check records for accuracy and conformity with policy and procedures.
• Perform ordinary mathematical computations while processing payments.
• Provide high-volume customer service to licensing applicants in person and by phone.
• Assist applicants with outreach to other city agencies and interagency communication to resolve licensing issues.
• Answer phone calls, emails, and written correspondence and communicate applicant information.
• Attend seminars, meetings, and trainings.
• Perform all licensing tasks as assigned and follow policies and procedures.
