Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an Eligibility Advisor I for a temporary role in Clarksville, TX. The position supports the AES division by determining eligibility for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid programs, with training provided.

Primary duties include interviewing clients, entering data into eligibility systems, and calculating benefits, while adhering to regulations. This role may require overtime and is eligible for telework.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours preferred.
• One year of customer service experience with public contact is preferred.
• Ability to operate Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and recipients in person or by phone to determine financial eligibility.
• Enter information into computer-based eligibility systems.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work in accordance with state and federal regulations and procedures.
