Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) invites applications for the Eligibility Advisor I role in the Access and Eligibility Services division. This position develops eligibility determinations for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid and related programs, meeting regulatory requirements while delivering client-centered service.

The role requires strong data entry, arithmetic, communication, and time-management skills. Telework is eligible; travel up to 10% may be required, with a day shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 60–90 semester hours or 90 quarter hours preferred.
• One year of customer service experience required; substitutions allowed.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants/recipients to determine financial eligibility.
• Enter data into eligibility systems and evaluate information.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility.
• Process work per regulations, guidelines, and timeframes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
