Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) AES division seeks a temporary Eligibility Advisor I to determine financial eligibility for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid programs. The role involves interviewing clients, collecting information, and processing benefits in a fast-paced environment.

This temporary position may end on 08/31/2027, with potential to transfer to a regular status based on availability and performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours preferred.
• One year of customer service experience preferred.
• Experience interviewing clients and gathering personal information preferred.
• Ability to use MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants and recipients to determine financial eligibility.
• Evaluate data from various sources and enter into eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility.
• Process work per regulations, procedures, and timeframes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
