Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an electrical engineering professional to support generator control switchgear systems within the Electric Power Division.

The role focuses on delivering automation and control solutions from concept through commissioning, working independently and with teams. You will identify retrofit opportunities, develop designs, and execute PLC/HMI projects for complex power systems, while collaborating with dealers, factories, and customers across the US.

Qualifications

Degree in electrical engineering or related field.
Experience with PLC-based controls, HMIs, and DCS.
Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with Dealer and Factory teams.
Design, programming, testing, and commissioning of low- and medium-voltage control systems.
Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
Partner with CAD designers to produce wiring and assembly drawings.
Provide technical support to AES Sales and Product Support Center teams and customers.
